Victory Day in KJJC

On May 11 a festive program commemorating Victory Day over the Nazis was held at the KJJC. Over 70 veterans of World War II and former ghetto prisoners, mainly clients of the “Hesed Yehuda” welfare center, gathered in the theatre hall.
A warm atmosphere was created by kind words from the heads of JDC, KJJC and Hesed, and also by professional singers, refreshments and historical war hymns. “We thank you for the heroism and victory that gave our youth possibility to live, smile, be happy and beautiful,” said Vera Krizhak, JDC Branch Director in Moldova.
And in the end one could see tears of gratitude and joy on the faces of veterans when girls from Hillel handed them red and pink carnations symbolizing spring, victory, and our admiration of them.
