Memorial plaque

On March 12, 2006, Ihil Shraibman, a world known Yiddish writer, would have celebrated his 93rd birthday. About 100 people, representatives of all of Kishinev’s Jewish Organizations and members of the community, gathered at the city’s "Manger" Jewish Library for the dedication of the memorial plaque. Ihil made a important contributions to the revival and renewal of Jewish life in Moldova, and was the one to put into writing the philosophy, traditions and day by day life of the Jews in Bessarabia. Marina, the author's wife, came with a word of gratitude to the organizations that supported and sponsored the editing of his books. Now, the memorial plaque on the Jewish Library will always bring to people's mind the man of the "WORD".
