Open Air – Open Mind

August 27 is the Independence Day of Moldova. KJJC traditionally holds an Open Air concert led by young conductors, students of Maestro Octavio Calleya (Spain). Over 120 people among whom Elena Belyakova, Interethnic Relations Bureau Director, David Mamistvalov, the 1st Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Janet Utecht, Peace Corps Country Director, and many others old and new friends and partners of the JCC comfortable sat to listen master pieces of Tchaikovsky and Verdi, Britten and Khachaturean. 

This time Maestro brought his students from Spain, Venezuela, Ukraine, Germany, Slovakia and Hungary. “I feel specially coming to Moldova”, said Octavio Calleya. ”Not only because I was born in Kishinev, but I like its history, culture and of course music.”

The concert was organized jointly by the JCC KEDEM and National Philharmonic of Moldova with who we support and develop very intensive and close cooperation for many years. 

“We just admire such concerts, they give an additional stimulus and push to live, positive emotions and mood!” exclaimed Dmitry and Anna. “It is a real Holiday!”
