SPECTRUM project 1998-2001 – strategic planning of the Moldova Jewish community – involved AJJDC, Brookdale Institute of Gerontology and Human Development, local sociologists, etc. However, the main players were Pittsburgh and Moldova communities. The project gave the possibility to analyze the modern conditions and state of the Jewish community and design the plan for the future projects. Many ideas born in the depths of SPECTRUM became reality now.

I hope Spectrum will become a model for other Jewish communities throughout the Former Soviet Union. If it does, we will have fully realized the dream we all had when we met on that first cold morning in Kishinev.”
