An opening of the welfare center “Hesed Rachel” became possible thanks to an initiative and organizational assistance of “Joint”, “Claims Conference” foundation, Norwegian State grant, British foundation of Rothschild and other foundations and private sponsors. Raisa Akulova, who is a permanent director of the center for many years, managed to master a group, which really implements a predestination of “Heseds” – the charity and mercy.
Unfortunately, hundreds of elderly, lonesome, sick and indigent people are in a need of a mercy. During ten years there have been realized about 30 programs, and for example 200 000 services in the field of food programs. Today over 400 elderly are the clients of Rybnitsa Hesed.
The most intensive are the programs of humanitarian, medical, “winter” and emergency aid; day care center “Shalom”, service of common care to elderly people, “meals on wheels”, cultural programs. In spite of the fact that the activity of “Hesed Rachel” is primarily directed towards the assistance of the elderly people, there also operate programs for children – cultural and educational ones.
The leaders of Jewish organizations and communities came from all cities of the Republic to congratulate their friends and collegues in Rybnitsa. Everyone who visited this bright event insists: in the “Hesed” of Rybnitsa exists especially warm atmosphere of love, care, and goodwill.
