On October 23 the next “KJJC Gathers Friends” meeting took place. Stav Nezhinsky, the 1st secretary of Israeli Embassy in Ukraine and Moldova, Elena Nezhinsky, Israeli Cultural Center Director, Mickey Katsiff, JDC Representative in Moldova, Dr. Efim Simhovich, KJJC Board Chair, Sonya Ghitenstein, Dor-le-Dor Fund Director, Yuri Harmelin, State Theatre “From the Rose Street” manager, famous local businessmen, actors, and singers spent nice time together.

The meeting main theme was “Jewish Anecdotes and Funny Stories”. “Jewish people are famous of a special sense of humor with some notes of sadness and ability to laugh on yourself”, said Dr. Victor Botnaru. “I have a lot of Jewish friends and always admired their quality to joke even in difficult situations.”

Famous local actor and showman Alexander Shishkin and popular singer Slava Farber made the atmosphere warm and merry. They inspired the audience with popular songs and curious stories.

JCC KEDEM art groups and invited young performers sang in English, Moldovan, Hebrew, showed new dances. The program was diversified and full of humor and fun.

“This is a very popular and necessary program. Every time I receive invitation to take part in it I expect something special and never was disappointed”, said Svetlana Midrigan, Center of Training and Professional Development Board Chair.
