Almost 90 children spent a nice week at integration camp organized by the Jewish Family Service. The camp had a very symbolic name – “Different and Equal”. It took place at a picturesque place Vadul-lui-Voda near Kishinev. AJJDC and Association “Vita” became the sponsors of the program with volunteer assistance from Jewish Healthcare International specialists.

Children with limited abilities entered a new circle of communication, participated in the games, quizzes, concerts. “We hope that positive emotions will have a good influence on the psychological and moral conditions of our kids”, said Zinaida Navoloaca, logopedist at a specialized kindergarten of Kishinev. “We learn from American specialists as they have a lot of experience in this sphere.”

We saw how after songs, poetry, merry music prepared by the youth club “Haverim” one of the boys at last smiled and walked happily with his father pushing the invalid chair in front of him.

“I am glad to see that our money make such a noble deed”, said Mickey Katsiff, AJJDC Branch in Moldova Director. “It is impossible to measure the positive effect from the integration camps that JFS organizes”.

Parents and children also left a lot of excited feedbacks about the camp.

“My expression is great!” told Irina Sokolova. “One of the aims was to connect parents and kids and it was gained through the program in a very creative manner.”

“I liked everything – meals, nice conditions of living, diversified program”, said Nadia Shpak.

“I thank all the organizers and specially the team of madrichim – they found approach to every person”, told Natalia Panarina.
